Aikona Commercial Marine decking conforms with IMO standards for use on balconies and outside decking on larger commercial vessels. The Commercial Marine decking underwent testing conducted to IMO Resolution A.653 (16) as amended by MSC 61(67): Annex 1, Part 5 (Low Flame Spread) and has been issued with a Lloyd’s Register Certificate of Fire Approval.
Aikona Commercial Marine has all the qualities of the other Aikona products, such as resilient to water and sunlight, slip resistant even when wet, retains the look and feel of new wood, easy to install, noise reducing, but with the added advantage of complying to IMO requirements. The synthetic decking is durable, simple to maintain and quick to clean and extremely stain resilient. For larger deck areas Aikona top welded section is recommended. Aikona top welded is designed to help create a water tight seal to prevent any ingress of water. The welded joint also allows for expansion and contraction of the product on external deck applications.
Aikona top welded is available as standard (5mm thick) or heavy duty (7mm thick), with a black or white coloured welding rod. The welding rod is also available from Aikona Ltd or Aikona distributors.
